Holly Hunter, an American film and actress, is known for her acclaimed performances in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards for her work which includes an Oscar. Her career in acting started in Broadway by performing in a range of Broadway as well as Off Broadway projects. It has always been her obsession. In fifth grade, she portrayed Helen Keller in an original production. Mumps made her lose her hearing in one of her ear, however this didn't stop the actress from following her dreams. In her teens she studied drama, and eventually moved into New York City. In a chance encounter she got stuck in an elevator with the playwright Beth Henley and the two joined forces to create the Broadway Crimes of the Heart that made Hunter's debut. After moving from Los Angeles she tried to get film roles and bagged a supporting role in Swing Shift. She has since appeared in several television series, films as well as movies throughout the span of a 30-year career. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and won Women in Film Lucy Award.
